Visiting Obama HQ (Chicago)

Today’s DNC day in Chicago began with a nice walk to the Obama national campaign headquarters, in the Prudential Building overlooking Lake Michigan.  The staff gave us a tour of the one extraordinarily large floor which they have converted from a law firm file storage area (I cringe to think of the rent that firm paid to give their boxes a view of the Lake) to a modern campaign HQ.  It has a lot of large open space (and reminded me of the Facebook HQ), surrounded by perimeter small offices.  It houses field, media, compliance and a lot of other areas that are necessary to running a large business.  The folks working there seemed dedicated and happy and their numbers will grow greatly over the next year.  Off to Resolutions Committee.  #DNCFall11
