The DPVA State Steering Committee will meet Friday night, Dec. 4, at 7:30 and the Central Commitee will meet Saturday morning, Dec. 5 at 10:00 am – both meetings are in Staunton at the Stonewall Jackson Hotel, 24 S. Market St., Staunton VA 24401. Spend some time in Staunton’s very cool downtown and check out Barrister books, one of Virginia’s best bookstores.
The DNC Change Commission scheduled to hold its final meeting at 10:00 am (tentative) on Saturday December 5 at the Capitol Hilton, at 16th & K Sts. NW, Washington DC. I will plan to attend the meeting and report at this site. I’ll shortly be posting my views on the rules issues the Commission is addressing. UPDATE: meeting scheduled to start at 10:30 am.
December 5-6 is also Organizing For America National Training Weekend — OFA will hold hundreds of trainings for volunteer leaders in across the country, including several in Virginia . Each training event has a specific “volunteer leader” audience in mind: regular volunteers, community organizers or neighborhood team leaders. Participants will learn how to make the biggest impact in their communities and learn specific skills, including how to talk with their neighbors about health insurance reform and use OFA’s innovative technology to organize effectively.
