Governor McAuliffe has been nominated for a 2017 StateScoop 50 Award in the category of Golden Gov: State Executive Leader of the Year.
In addition to creating more than 150,000 jobs and adding a record $15.5 billion in capital investment, the McAuliffe administration has reformed Virginia’s transportation system, created the first pay-for-performance workforce credential grant, and led the efforts for the Commonwealth to be certified as the first state to functionally end veteran homelessness.
Governor McAuliffe has spent the last three years helping build a new Virginia economy that is open and welcoming to everyone. He has been the brick wall for the rights of women, immigrants, and returning citizens against radicals in the general assembly who wish to roll back progress and history.
He has also been a champion of voting rights, working to restore rights, make it easier to vote, and supporting fair redistricting.
