I have had the pleasure of knowing Alfonso Lopez, and working with him to elect Democratic candidates and advance progressive causes, for many years. He is a lifelong Democrat and activist with nearly 20 years of legislative policy experience on issues critical to the people of Arlington and Fairfax – transportation, education, jobs, and the environment. Alfonso recently served in the Obama Administration advancing important small business legislation, was Virginia’s governmental affairs guy in Washington during the Kaine Administration (a cabinet-level position), and has also worked as a Hill staffer. He is a solid progressive Democrat and has the passion and the practical experience to get things done in Richmond.
Alfonso also is proud of the work that he has done in our community — serving on numerous local boards and commissions including the Arlington Fiscal Affairs Advisory Commission and the Shirlington Employment and Education Center. Alfonso serves on the DNC with me and I supported his efforts to make sure that members of the Military & Veterans’ Family, LGBT, and Latino Caucuses were represented on the Steering Committee of the Democratic Party of Virginia.
The primary is on August 23rd – if you won’t be around on that day (or, e.g., ig you will be working out of Arlington all day), please VOTE NOW in person or by absentee ballot. For more info on absentee/early voting, click here. With your help, Alfonso will be able to represent us and fight for our progressive values in Richmond.
