DPVA has posted an new webpage — http://vademocrats.org/convention-2016/ — with important information on how to run as a state and national convention delegate. The site includes the filing forms and allows you to file for national delegate online. You will also find explanations of the process, a calendar with deadlines, and contact information for local and congressional district committees. Note that the first deadlines coming up are the filing deadlines for state convention delegates – these are April 9, 5 pm, for caucuses to be held on Saturday, April 16 (12 noon) and April 11, 5 pm for caucuses to be held Monday April 18, 2016 (7:30 pm). Forms must be filed with your city or county Democratic Committee, so contact your local chair – here. National convention delegate filing deadlines are April 22 for May 7 Conventions (5th and 7th CDs), April 29 for May 14 Conventions (2nd, 3rd, 4th, 8th, 10th, and 11th CDs), and May 7 for May 21 Conventions (1st, 6th, and 9th CDs).
Remember – caucus attendees will vote for Hillary OR Bernie state convention delegates. Those state delegates will then go to the Congressional District and State Conventions and vote for Hillary OR Bernie national convention delegates (Bernie state delegates voting for Bernie national delegates and Hillary state delegates voting for Hillary national delegates).
