The DNC Rules & Bylaws Committee, meeting in Washington DC today, gave final approval to the Virginia Delegate Selection Plan for the 2012 Democratic National Convention. The RBC approved a waiver request allowing compliance with the SBE Presidential Candidate Filing deadline of December 22, 2011. (Time to get going on those petitions!) The RBC has granted similar waivers to other states (and probably should modify that rule). More on the meeting later.

That makes more sense; I didn’t think the RBC would let that sneak through. I’ll post a report tomorrow am.
Odd indeed. It may be that the DFL in Minnesota revised their delegate selection plan, but the last draft of it that I saw included the vote now, release later provision.
Ha! I just checked. The February 7 date in the original draft was a mistake apparently.

Good to know.
Really? I believe that the RBC approved Minnesota’s plan but I didn’t hear any discussion of the issue you raise. Seems odd.
What did the RBC say about the Minnesota plan to caucus on February 7 but release the results on March 6? Was that granted a waiver as well?
