DNC 2016 Convention Update

The DNC has narrowed the list of potential locations for the Democratic National Convention in 2016 to Philadelphia, New York (Brooklyn), and Columbus Ohio.  It will likely make a final choice in January 2015.  Sign up for updates here – http://my.democrats.org/Convention-Updates.  As Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz said:  “I’m so excited for this convention, and I hope you are too. We have a critical, incredible opportunity to elect another Democrat to the presidency, and this is where we’ll come together as a party to do that important work. We will review what we’ve learned from 2014 and what we can do to make the coming years the best our party has ever had.”

Closer to home, the Democratic Party of Virginia will be selecting its nominating process soon and drafting its delegate selection plan soon.  Since 2004, we have allocated delegates according to a primary and elected the delegates at district and state conventions – I support doing that again.  Stay tuned.
