- See about DC’s transportation guide
- Justice Roberts to swear in president Obama (for the fourth time, so Obama’s record matches FDR’s).
- Of course, January 21 is also Martin Luther King day, so some joint events are planned.
- Inaugural Prayer Service at National Cathedral on January 22 at 10:30 am (invitation only, but televised)
- DNC meeting at Marriot Wardman Park, full committee meeting at 1:30, January 22

2012 Inauguration Update #1
Here are some updates. I will be posting more as they become available.
- Official Inaugural Ball tickets – haven’t gone out yet, and this year there will be only two official balls (plus a military ball), a reduction from 10 four years ago (and the fewest balls since Eisenhower). All the more reason to head to the Democratic Party of Virginia Inaugural Ball at the Westin in Ballston (Arlington) on January 20th and the Democratic Black Caucus of Virginia 47% Inaugural Ball in Chantilly on January 19th.
- Also, there is the Italian-American Democratic Leadership Council Event on January 20 at Carmines in DC.
