At this week’s Democratic National Committee Meeting, the DNC will elect 75 At-Large DNC members and ratify Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz’s appointments to the Rules & Bylaws, Credentials, and Resolutions Committees (30 members each) and the Budget and Finance Commitee (10 members). The DNC has released the Chair’s nominees and appointments, and we are fortunate to have additional Virginia DNC members and one member on each of the committees. The At-Large nominees are Susan Swecker, Juanita Luis, and Del. Jennifer McClellan. These members join the four elected DNC members (Mame Rieley, Doris Crouse-Mays, George Wallace, and me) and the State Party Chair (Charnielle Herring) and First Vice Chair (Fred Hudson) on the DNC. Doris was appointed as the Co-Chair (!) of the DNC Budget and Finance Committee, Mame was reappointed to Rules & Bylaws, I was reappointed to Credentials, and Jennifer was appointed to Resolutions. In addition, Atima Omara-Alwala was recently elected as the President of the Young Demcorats of America and thus becomes a member of the DNC. Congratulations all!
