DPVA to Vote on Presidential Primary

The Democratic Party of Virginia meeting this weekend will vote on a series of resolutions concerning the 2016 Democratic National Convention delegate selection process.  The resolutions call for the party to follow a similar process as we did in 2004, 2008, and 2012 – participate in Virginia’s Presidential primary (March 1, 2016) and use that primary to allocate delegates among the presidential candidates.  Then hold Congressional District and State Conventions to fill the actual delegate slots.   I think this is the most open, fair, and Democratic process and I will support it (as I always have in the past).  As noted below, the DPVA Central Committee will vote at its meeting on Saturday, March 7 at the Wyndham Virginia Crossings Hotel & Conference Center, 1000 Virginia Center Pkwy, Glen Allen, VA 23059.  The DPVA will its Delegate Selection Plan for public comment this spring.  Here are the resolutions:
