The Democratic Party of Virginia Steering and Central Committees will hold their first meetings of 2016 on February 19th, 7:30 pm, and February 20th, at 10:00 am at the Suntrust Building, 919 East Main Street Suite 2050 Richmond, VA 23219. Issues will include the March 1 Presidential Primary, the Rules for the DPVA Convention, city/county committee new organization, and the new Congressional District Lines. There will also be a training session for city and county chairs on Saturday. See our 2016 Convention Page for updated delegate selection materials.
On Saturday, from 1-3 pm at the Suntrust auditorium, DPVA will host a panel discussion on the THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF BARBARA JOHNS AND MOTON SCHOOL WALKOUT, a critical step in the fight for Civil Rights in Virginia, and nationally. More information here. Then on Saturday from 7-9 pm, DPVA will host a Reception Honoring the Life and Legacy of Barbara Johns, at the Barrel House Restaurant, 140 Virginia Street, Richmond, VA 23219.
