The Democratic Party of Virgninia State Steeering Committee will meet tonight from 7-9 pm in the Sadler Center, Chesapeake Room, on the Campus of William & Mary (200 Stadium Drive, Williamsburg, VA 23186. The full DPVA Central Committee will meet tomorrow, Saturday, December 8 from 10AM-Noon at the same location. The Party will adopt rules for the election of a new chair and elect a new chair, consider resolutions, including one supporting early voting and other voting reforms, review 2012’s activities, discuss plans for the 2013 statewide and general assembly elections (including candidate recruitment), and hear from statewide candidates and other party leaders. The Committees will also discuss the upcoming inaugration and the for 2013 Central Committee election process. Other party groups, including the Association of Democratic [local committee] Chairs, the Outreach Committee, the Women’s Caucus, the LGBT caucus, and the Technology Committee. Tonight’s meeting will be followed by a reception hosted by Terry McAuliffe honoring outgoing Chair Brian Moran. The meetings are open to all Democrats. I am excited to see the party build on a succesful 2012 to continue moving Forward! in 2013.
