DPVA Launches Voter Protection Council

At its March 2015 State Central Committee meeting, the DPVA established a permanent, volunteer Voter Protection Council.  (Charter below)  The VPC will work year round to support voter education (e.g. photo ID), voter registration, voting rights restoration, and legislative and administrative efforts to make voting easier, as well as providing voter protection services up to, on, and after Election Day.  The VPC is chaired by Georgina Cannan and Matthew Weinstein, and will be governed by a diverse Executive Committee.  Membership is open to all Democrats – you don’t have to be a Virginia lawyer or a lawyer at all.  I am really excited about this project and would love for you to be part of it.

Thanks to Georgina and Brenner Tobe at DPVA, we’ve got the first edition of our Website up – and you can join, online, now.  Please follow us on twitter at @DPVAvote and our Facebook page is coming soon.
